The cities and islands of this area are some of the most beautiful you'll ever see and well worth an overnight stay for those who have the time. On this two day tour, hotel included, you'll get to see even more of remarkable Southern Italy. After visits to Naples and the ruins of Pompeii, we'll head down the breathtaking coastal road, the Amalfi Coast Highway, toward Sorrento, a lovely town built atop the rocky cliffs that overlook the Bay of Naples. You'll enjoy a delicious dinner and check into your hotel where you'll fall asleep to the sound of the waves rolling over the rocks on the beaches below. After an early breakfast, we're off by boat to the Island of Capri, for years the playground of the rich and famous. One look at the island and you'll see why, from the charming main square with its shops and outdoor cafes to the beautiful beaches, Capri is a true paradise on earth. Weather and time permitting, we'll rowboat out to the Grotta Azzurra (Blue Cave), famed for the ethereal blue light that surrounds you once you have entered the cavern. After lunch in the island's other main village, Anacapri, we'll begin our trip back to Rome.
