Florence in One Glorious Day (or two): The Original Florence Walk, The Masterpieces of the Uffizi Gallery Tour and The Original David Tour

“Interesting, informative and entertaining”

I found all three tours to be well run, interesting, informative and entertaining. I originally had doubts as I did not know anything about and had not previously been all that interested in art or history but they really got me in.

“Thoroughly enjoyed all the tours”

My husband and I took three Artviva tours last week during our quick visit to Florence.
I just wanted to tell you that we thoroughly enjoyed all three of the tours, and are so happy we got to see Florence and its wonderful art and architecture through the eyes of your enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guides.  Both Sara and Paola were fascinating to listen to, and I'm sure we learned many things we wouldn't have found in any written guides.  We were so impressed with the depth of their expertise on Florence and its art. Thank you very much.

“I had a great time”

I had a great time on the tour.  There was three of us in our group and we did the all day tour.  We started with the walking tour and it was the best of the three we all thought.  Our guide was fun, informative, and got us involved with the tour which is nice.  To me that means that the guides actually care what our thoughts were instead of just telling us stuff.

“High quality tour of Florence”

Thank you so much for providing such a high quality tour of Florence.  Paul, our guide for the three walking tours we took was fascinating.  We found him to be highly knowledgeable about the history and art.   He also provided very interesting details about the sculptures .  We would highly recommend your tours and hope to return to Italy  and take more ourselves!
Sincerely,

“The guides were wonderful”

We thoroughly enjoyed each of the tours.  The experience was entirely made by the attitude, energy, style and knowledge of the guides.  In each of the tours the guides were wonderful.  Very knowledgeable, very amusing, very engaging and very helpful.  I think the choice of paintings to talk about I the Uffizi gallery was inspired.  I had not really appreciated art before, but it was fascinating to see and understand the development in technique and style through the choice of paintings.

“The tours were great”

Both tours were great. The guides gave us an in-depth perspective on Italian history and architecture that made our trip to Florence enjoyable. All questions were answered with enthusiasm and patience. Our morning guide took time to offer recommendations of her favourite local spots, which we found were accurately described and added to our fond memories of Florence.

“All tours have been organized on a very professional and efficient way”

All tours have been organized on a very professional and efficient way. It was our first visit to Italy in general, and to Florence in particular, and when we saw how many tourists were there (even at the end of the tourist season) and how long the queues for the tickets were, we really appreciated the way your tours deal with the ticket purchase. You obviously hire the best guides: with their great knowledge and passion they would give us the background of the place of visit and then show the major highlights, allowing enough time for us to explore the rest. We reckon this is the best way of organizing such tours.
Thank you again for your great service.

“Really interesting and informative in a fun and engaging way”

These were just the right mix of information and history and walking.  Really interesting and informative in a fun and engaging way. Great also for the kids.  It was lovely to have guides who were so passionate about Florence.  And the groups were just the right size, too.

“The tours were very nice”

The tours were very nice.  We had Paul for all three tours and is very pleasant and  knowledgeable for all the tours.  We found you on the web.  It is a must to have the Original and Best Walking Tours of Florence or you will certainly miss many things without having a tour guide like Paul.
Had a great time!

“The delightful tours”

Thank you for the delightful tours. The one we liked the best was the morning walking tour with Sara. It was so complete, so comprehensive, so interestingly conducted, and so efficiently organized.  We commended Sara for it and expressed our appreciation.  All the guides were good but Sarah stood out for her obvious love of what she's doing.  She also peppered her annotation with interesting information, trivia, and human interest stories.  She kept the tour alive with the vibrant way she conducted both the David Tour and the morning walking tour. Thank you for a memorable time in Florence largely because of the tours with you.

“Fantastic guides”

I just wanted to pass on my thanks to the fantastic guides that we had on all elements of the Florence in One Glorious Day tours. The guides for David statue and Uffizi Gallery were particularly impressive and I felt that their knowledge was immense. Despite a long and arduous journey back to England that helped make a great holiday

“Memorable experience!”

We truly loved Florence and a good part of the reason was how we were introduced to this mystical City.  Our tour guides Paola and Sara were fantastic!  You could sense their passion for the City and for what they were doing.  They both were so engaging and were so willing to answer any questions that we had.  We did tours in other cities in Italy but I would definitely come back to Florence because of the quality of the tours.  Thank you again for making this such a memorable experience!

“Excellent”

All three tours were excellent. All three guides were knowledgeable, passionate about their topic, considerate and concerned for their guests, and fun. The information they provided was almost overwhelming, but that is not a complaint, just a recognition of the vast amount of information there is for them to share. We would definitely recommend these tours to others visiting Florence. We enjoyed out walk back to your offices with Corrina discussing life in Florence. Our experience viewing Michelangelo’s "David" was the best ever because of the information shared and the descriptions provided by Elizabetta. You have an excellent staff that we hope to see again someday when we can spend more time in Florence/Firenze taking more time to appreciate things.

“It was really fun”

Rick Steves mentioned ArtViva/Best Walking Tours in his book Italy 2010, so I registered online
while planning my vacation in Italy. After arriving in Florence, I joined a tour and can't think of a better way to start a vacation in Italy. Our tour guide in the morning was Elizabetta, and she was wonderful. Her art history & history background is phenomenal-she made the tour fun and interesting. She answered all of our questions and made everybody an important
part of the tour. It wasn't just a lecture of facts, it was really fun. If she taught history or art history,
people would be lined up to take her classes, and I would be first in line. I recommended the
walking tour to many people I met while on vacation, and will continue to recommend it. I hope
you have a great year. Ciao.

cooking class

I took the Cooking Class and Market tour (in San Lorenzo Market). It was awesome! The market had the most incredible fresh ingredients, and the most amazing seafood selection I have ever seen. The cooking class was extremely professional, and the lunch afterwards was great! I recommend this class for anyone.Mark

A truly life changing experience

Absolutely amazing.Words can hardly express how much we enjoyed our experience with ArtViva! From the minute we stepped in their lovely office, we felt attended, looked after and taken care of. The friendly staff advised us in detail of what would suit our tastes and knowledge best, and as they have so many beautiful tours to choose from, that help was very appreciated. Florence's cultural richness can be overwhelming, but relying on ArtViva made everything easy and utterly enjoyable for us.The small group walking tour of Florence exceeded all expectations. Our guide Paul was tremedous: a true Florence insider, with amazing knowledge of arts and culture, engaging story telling and great local tips you won't find in a guide book. The memories of the tour will stay with me and my sister for many many years. Booking with ArtViva is the best single thing you could do to have the ultimate Florence experience.Thank you, ArtViva.

Friendly and Knowledgable.

An essential part of visiting such an historical city as Florence is a smart, knowledgeable tour guide. Artvivas guides are fun, friendly and really know their stuff. Plus they know all those great places not on most guidebooks that only a passionate local world know. Dont even contemplate a visit to the Uffizi or Michaelangelos David without one!

Hightlight of Italian Trip

Thanks so much for the great walking tour we did in Florence in May. It was fun, informative and we were treated like VIPS! The guide made us feel welcome and got to know exactly what we were interested in seeing to make sure all was covered. If we had tried to do everything we did on the tour on our own, we would have spent days getting hopelessly lost! I highly recommend this tour if you are interested in the art, architecture, history and the culture of Florence.

Feels like you have hired a first-class guide from a first-class outfit – at a fraction of the price.

If you are the type to shy away from “packaged” tours, preferring to go it alone in a brand new city, Art Viva might just be your new BFF (best friend forever) when on tour in Florence. Comfortably small groups - instead of large crowds moving en-masse. Personalized insights by well-educated guides – instead of canned presentations. ArtViva’s walking tours are the next best thing to hiring a private art historian to walk you around this fabulous city – at a fraction of the price. Their 3-hour walking introduction to Florence’s history and a follow-up tour of the Uffizi dispelled all my preconceptions that tour groups were not for me. Even if you’ve been to Florence before, start your vacation off right in 3 quick hours. It will set the stage for a perfect stay.

Incredible!

My husband and I had the good fortune of taking ArtViva tours of Florence while on our honeymoon. We started with the walking tour, followed by the David tour. We were so impressed we immediately signed up for the Uffizi tour the next day. The guides we had (Sasha/Sylvia & Brenda) were all amazing; they were incredibly knowledgable, friendly and spoke perfect English. What was best was their genuine enthusiam and love of the arts and history of Florence; their excitment was contagious and inspired us to want to know and learn more! I couldn't have asked for a better experience.Brigitte Reynolds
