Reviews Rome Tours

Fantastic tours we did with Artviva.Wow! We did the Grand Italy package tours of Venice, Florence and Rome with the Learn to be Gondolier Tour in Venice and Villa Swim tour with wine tasting in Tuscany as extras. The company threw in an Evening walk with wine in Florence. Friendly staff, great service, really fantastic guides, best tours we did in Europe. Venice gondola rowing teaching experience was our favorite, just being out on the lagoon with magical views and our son having a go at rowing was the highlight of our trip. We can't recommend Artviva more highly; we will definitely be using them when we return. Can't remember all the guides names, but a special thanks to Stephan for a great Best Tuscany tour and Jennifer for the Grand Canal and Original Gondola tours, and Sylvia in Florence for the Uffizi tour and Chris for a memorableVatican tour.

Our guide, Chris, was excellent, and the best guide I've ever had.
His knowledge of art history was superb; and even more importantly, he was able to impart his appreciation of art to us.  I would specifically recommend Chris to any friends visiting the Vatican -- his wealth of knowledge was invaluable!

We were very impressed.
Our guide took us away from the swarms of other tour groups.  He didn't use ear phones or name tags and he answered our touristy questions.  If his tour was an example of all your tours, if in Italy again we will book even more with you.   I have already recommended Artviva on Rick Steves helpline.

Both tours and guides were fabulous.
The guides were quite knowledgeable and very friendly.  We spending our day with them and will definitely recommend your tour company to others.

We heard about you in the Rick Steves book on Florence
We did three tours in Florence and one in Rome

I can't remember the guides names, we had so many.  In Florence our first guide was a young lady, very nice.  Brown hair, kind of long maybe?  She took us on the walking tour of the city.  Then we took the Museum tour and the lady that helped us had shorter hair, dark brown.  Very nice and knowlegeable.  We missed the third tour we paid for, the Acadameia, because we miscalculated our train schedule and had to leave to get back on the boat.

The Rome walking tour we had a young man, Marcello, I think.  He was very good as well.  Knew everything, couldn't come up with a question he did not knwo the answer to.

We were in Rome for four days May 15-19, I think, and I want to say we took the tour with Marcello on the Monday.

Florence would have been the following Wednesday.

The tours were great and so was the service.  We arrived late for the first tour in florence and a young lady stopped what she was doing and walked us through the city until she found the group.  She was very nice and helpful...give her a raise...she was from Nashville and just could not have been more helpful.  We were stressed out from trying to get to Florence, find the tour starting spot and she made us feel better right away.

The guides were all very good and knowlegeable. We have already given your company name to friends who plan to tour Italy.

Thanks

Recently back from a trip to Italy
thoroughly enjoyed the tours--- trying to get in touch with Chris - our tour guide in Rome (May 11) -- of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel..please forward this to him.. greatly appreciated.  Thank you.
All tours were spectular.  We would not have known much about what we were seeing if we had not experienced these tours.  Such knowledge about their subjects, art, history, theology, philosophy and sooo passionate!  It was so exciting !  I am especially happy to have seen tour guides who speak perfect English - made it so much easier.  Thank you so much ArtViva!

cooking class

I took the Cooking Class and Market tour (in San Lorenzo Market). It was awesome! The market had the most incredible fresh ingredients, and the most amazing seafood selection I have ever seen. The cooking class was extremely professional, and the lunch afterwards was great! I recommend this class for anyone.Mark

A truly life changing experience

Absolutely amazing.Words can hardly express how much we enjoyed our experience with ArtViva! From the minute we stepped in their lovely office, we felt attended, looked after and taken care of. The friendly staff advised us in detail of what would suit our tastes and knowledge best, and as they have so many beautiful tours to choose from, that help was very appreciated. Florence's cultural richness can be overwhelming, but relying on ArtViva made everything easy and utterly enjoyable for us.The small group walking tour of Florence exceeded all expectations. Our guide Paul was tremedous: a true Florence insider, with amazing knowledge of arts and culture, engaging story telling and great local tips you won't find in a guide book. The memories of the tour will stay with me and my sister for many many years. Booking with ArtViva is the best single thing you could do to have the ultimate Florence experience.Thank you, ArtViva.

Friendly and Knowledgable.

An essential part of visiting such an historical city as Florence is a smart, knowledgeable tour guide. Artvivas guides are fun, friendly and really know their stuff. Plus they know all those great places not on most guidebooks that only a passionate local world know. Dont even contemplate a visit to the Uffizi or Michaelangelos David without one!

Hightlight of Italian Trip

Thanks so much for the great walking tour we did in Florence in May. It was fun, informative and we were treated like VIPS! The guide made us feel welcome and got to know exactly what we were interested in seeing to make sure all was covered. If we had tried to do everything we did on the tour on our own, we would have spent days getting hopelessly lost! I highly recommend this tour if you are interested in the art, architecture, history and the culture of Florence.

Feels like you have hired a first-class guide from a first-class outfit – at a fraction of the price.

If you are the type to shy away from “packaged” tours, preferring to go it alone in a brand new city, Art Viva might just be your new BFF (best friend forever) when on tour in Florence. Comfortably small groups - instead of large crowds moving en-masse. Personalized insights by well-educated guides – instead of canned presentations. ArtViva’s walking tours are the next best thing to hiring a private art historian to walk you around this fabulous city – at a fraction of the price. Their 3-hour walking introduction to Florence’s history and a follow-up tour of the Uffizi dispelled all my preconceptions that tour groups were not for me. Even if you’ve been to Florence before, start your vacation off right in 3 quick hours. It will set the stage for a perfect stay.

Incredible!

My husband and I had the good fortune of taking ArtViva tours of Florence while on our honeymoon. We started with the walking tour, followed by the David tour. We were so impressed we immediately signed up for the Uffizi tour the next day. The guides we had (Sasha/Sylvia & Brenda) were all amazing; they were incredibly knowledgable, friendly and spoke perfect English. What was best was their genuine enthusiam and love of the arts and history of Florence; their excitment was contagious and inspired us to want to know and learn more! I couldn't have asked for a better experience.Brigitte Reynolds
