Description: The Medici’s rivals, the wealthy Pitti family, commissioned Brunelleschi (architect of Florence’s famous Duomo) to design their home in the late 15th century.Today this grand palace housesfive museums with a diverse collection of art and artifacts ranging from the opulent private living quarters to 16th and 17th centurypaintings ( in the Palatine Gallery)and even a costume gallery.

Opening Hours: Pitti Palace’s museums have different opening hours:
- Palatine Gallery and Royal Apartments: Tuesday- Saturday, 8:15 am- 6:30 pm
- Costume Gallery: Tuesday- Saturday, 8:15 am- 2:30 pm

Silver and Porcelain Musuems: Tuesday- Saturday, 8:15 am- 5:30 pm. Closed the first and last Monday of each month
Also closed January 1, May 1 and December 25
Costs: Each museum within the Pitti Palace has a different entrance fee, to be paid in cash when picking up the reserved tickets; 10 Euro reservation fee per ticket
