In Depth Description A Perfect Morning in Tuscany and Menu

For the A Perfect Morning in Tuscany Tour....From our office we depart for Fiesole- a picturesque hill top town north of Florence. You can choose to relax and have a coffee or snack there in a café overlooking the town square or head on up to see an ancient hill top monastery with fabulous views over Florence with our guide. The guide then leads you on a walk/hike through Renaissance Tuscan streets to the start of the shaded nature walk where we see the spot where Leonardo Da Vinci conducted his historic flying machine experiments. This walk has some of the best views of classic Tuscan scenes anywhere and lots of wonderful photo opportunities. You will see the ancient stone cuttings in the area where Michelangelo was trained- some of the cuttings date to Etruscan times. Be prepared for a walk on mixed-terrain up and down some fairly steep hills.  We then head on to a grand Renaissance villa with beautiful gardens which featured in two famous films 'A Room With a View' and 'Tea with Mussolini'. We then go to the estates restaurant which has lovely views of the Tuscan countryside to have a light lunch consisting of two courses, and enjoy wine and superb olive oil that the estate produces. The guide will enlighten you on wine and olive oil making, and tell you all about the traditional Tuscan cuisine whilst you enjoy the lunch.  The Estate has a marvelously atmospheric 'alimentari' where you can choose to browse and or purchase something to take home if you wish. We then walk with the guide through gently rolling Tuscan fields past olive groves, vineyards, and classic countryside chapels and villas back to the bus for the twenty minute ride back to Florence. You can choose to depart the bus at the Duomo or at the train station with the guide's assistance.

(Tuscan hot bread soup with vegetables and extra virgin olive oil)

Caprese
(fresh tomatoes and mozarella cheese with fresh basil)

Pappa al Pomodoro
(Tuscan hot bread soup with tomatoes, basil and extra virgin olive oil)

Zuppa di Legumi Toscana
(Tuscan legumes soup with toast bread)

Pasta Primavera
(Cool pasta with mozzarella cheese, tomatoes and basil)

Tagliolini ai Profumi del Bosco
(Tagliolini pasta with aromas from the Tuscan woods)

Crespelle della Fattoria
(Florentine style crèpes filled with ricotta cheese and spinach au gratin)

Farfalle ai Sapori dell'Orto
(pasta with fresh ingredients from the garden)

Penne alla Fiorentina
(pasta "alla Fiorentina")

Wine tasting of quality red and white Italian wine
mineral water

Followed by tea or coffee
