You must be fit and healthy to do this tour. Proper and comfortable walking shoes/light hiking shoes are required for walks.

 

 

 

Day 1:

After meeting your guide in either Alessandria or in Asti, you will then travel to your beautiful and authentic countryside accommodations in La Morra in Borgata Croera. Here you will enjoy a light welcome lunch, some free time to relax and a lovely stroll through the stunning vineyards that surround La Morra near Gran Crù. Along the Barolo pathways, you will be enchanted by the small medieval towns of Annunziata and Santa Maria that overlook the breathtaking panorama from La Morra. After our first excursion, you will be able to relax before dining in one of the nearby restaurants.

Day 2:

After a good night’s rest and an energizing breakfast, you are ready to begin your second excursion. Departing directly from our agriturismo, you will make our way towards Barolo weaving through small farms, medieval villages near Monviso. You will pass through the charming towns of Vergne, Pezzole, and Cicocchini while stopping for a well-deserved pause in the historic center of Novello.  Once you have gathered your forces you will continue on a delightful pathway leading directly to the historic center of Barolo, dominated entirely by the beautiful medieval castle. Here, you will enjoy a wonderful and hearty lunch in a typical osteria and follow up with an unforgettable visit to the Falletti Family castle and to the regional enoteca or wine store specializing only in Barolo. Here you will be able to indulge in three different Barolo wines, all from the same year, but from different farms and vineyards. You will also be able to visit the historic cellars of Marchesi di Barolo while enjoying a tasting at this very famous location where the delicious Barolo wine was born! Upon returning to your agriturismo, you will have time to enjoy the sunset and relax before another spectacular meal in the nearby town of Verduno.

Day 3:

In the morning, you will travel to Monforte d’Alba and from here, begin today’s excursion. After having visited the beautiful streets of this ancient historic center you will be greeted by open countryside. Here, you will follow the magnificent tower of the Serralunga Castello and cross over the torrent of Castiglione, ascending and climbing through vineyards and fields until reaching your final destination of Collaretto. Just after a few more steps, you will finally be greeted by the fortified village of Serralunga d’Alba and enjoy a delightful and re-energizing lunch at Alessio’s famous enoteca. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to indulge in your second wine tasting at a family owned wine estate near Serralunga. After refreshments and drinks, you and your guide will happily continue your excursion to Castiglione Falletto to visit this charming medieval borgo before returning to Monforte and to your accommodations. Time to relax and then you are off to dinner in the lovely Cherasco.

Day 4:

Today, you will have a leisurely visit with Franco, the owner and producer of the La Morra estates’ wine, to really understand and see how the winemaking process works. Explaining in laymen’s terms Franco will unveil the secrets behind producing an excellent bottle of wine. After your morning’s lesson in winemaking, you will travel to Alba, the world’s white truffle capital for a luxurious lunch. Once having indulged in lunch, you will be able to discover the delightful historic center before traveling to the land of Barbaresco, another wonderful red wine produced in Piemonte. In Martinenga, you will have the opportunity to visit other famous wine cellars and taste the prestigious wines produced in this area in Italy. After relaxing back at the Agriturismo, you will then enjoy another spectacular meal in the near Monforte d’Alba.

Day 5:

Today, after meeting with the guide, you will begin today’s excursion beginning in Monforte. After winding through forests and vineyards, you will finally arrive at the Castello di Barolo. After about a one-hour ascent, immersed in vineyards and arriving in Castiglion Falletto, you will have the opportunity to relax and dine in a characteristic restaurant and enjoy a refreshing meal. IN the afternoon, following lunch you can chose to visit either the medieval center of Saluzzo (the original place of the ancient Marchesato) or to one of the many wine-producing estates to enjoy a delectable wine tasting. In the evening, you will return to the agriturismo to relax before enjoying another unforgettable meal near La Morra.

 Day 6:

Our sixth day is planned to the perfect according to your preferences. Among the many things to see and do in Piemonte, some of the more popular choices are: 1. a visit to the nearby Torino, recent host to the Winter Olympics; 2. complete relax at the La Morra agriturismo; 3. visits to nearby wineries for indulgent wine tastings; 4. Cheese tastings in the nearby Alta Langa;  or 5. Visits to other breathtaking areas in Piemonte. In the afternoon, you will return to the Agriturismo and get ready for your final goodbye dinner. For your last night together with your guide, you will enjoy local products (cheeses, meats, and other local dishes)  locally produced wine, (Arneis, Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Barolo) and live music after dinner!

 

Day 7:

Time to say goodbye to your guide and the wonderful region of Piemonte. We hope you will remember fondly every moment in this breathtaking and particular part of Italy.
