One of the few typical Roman osteria still remaining, Matricianella offers delicious and local fare at prices that do not match its central location near the Spanish Steps. Typical Roman dishes are served in a wonderful rustic atmosphere reminiscent of old-fashioned trattorias for which Rome was so famous. Matricianella boasts all the staples of the Roman kitchen, including fried artichokes, spaghetti all’amatriciana and saltimbocca, veal cutlets sautéed with prosciutto and sage and a pleasantly surprising wine list.
