Just hidden away in the hills that surround Florence on the southern side of the river Arno, Ristorante Omero is a true Florentine restaurant. This famous restaurant, set amid the beautiful Tuscan countryside, is the ideal place to come for lunch or dinner and even to do a bit of shopping. True to tradition, the front part of the restaurant functions as a small grocery and delicatessen for neighbouring homes, while the latter part is a beautifully decorated rustic restaurant with spectacular views of the country below. Their traditional menu is enhanced by their daily specials which always incorporate the season’s freshest ingredients. Summer recipes highlight fresh vegetables, especially dishes featuring fava beans, fresh pecorino cheeses and crisp white Vernaccia wine and the summer terrace is the perfect place to enjoy it! During the fall, hearty soups, filled pasta dishes, and grilled meats dot the menu, but the real star is their ribollita, a plentiful bread based vegetable soup that warms you up even on the coldest days. Here, you will never find an insalata caprese in January! Their extensive wine cellar boasts more than 200 wines on stock, primarily Tuscan, but all thoroughly Italian.

You can enjoy all of this on our Bike Tuscany Tour which takes you through the hillsides in Pian dei Giullari on the southern side of the city. Our half-day, 14 km cycling trip stops here for lunch half-way through the tour and re-fills the energy tanks for more cycling. Our knowledgeable guides lead you through Florence’s less touristy areas and with us you can see spectacular views of the city from the hills up above it. Join us on an unforgettable experience biking through Tuscan countryside and an memorable meal at Omero’s!
